General Description

This is a sales and goal oriented position involved with lead generation of prospective students within the Federal, State and Local Government (non-military) environment. Position is responsible for building trusted relationships with government departments and agencies that will position Herzing University Online as a preferred academic provider. Also, included in this definition will be focus on Workforce Development, Unions and large Associations. Herzing University is well established in the education industry with more than 40 years of experience preparing students for rewarding careers in technology, business, health care, design, and public safety. Herzing University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifies and builds trusted relationships with Federal and State Departments and Agencies to position Herzing University Online as a preferred educational provider in their respective countries
  • Is responsible for achieving sales, profitability, and partner recruitment objectives
  • Meet and exceed goals including the execution of agreements that will generate inquiries, applications and enrollments into Herzing University degree programs
  • Develop a sales plan that ensures all assigned goals are met
  • Coordinate the involvement of University personnel, including support, customer service, and management resources, in order to meet partner performance objectives and partners’ expectations
  • Meet and exceed monthly individual conversion goals
  • Generate sufficient sales activity to meet assigned goals, including but not limited to sales prospecting (online, email, direct mail), clients meetings, sales proposals, RFP's, formal and informal sales presentations
  • Seek out, participate in, and generate ongoing leads and interest in the University through international partnerships during education fairs, learning events, and career fairs
  • Attend key industry events and stay abreast of key issues, legislation that impact the market and competitive positioning

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Maintain a current and accurate knowledge of all program offerings, policies and procedures
  • Volunteer and pursue improvements in all departmental efforts
  • Attend all required departmental and university meetings when necessary
  • Assist with departmental duties as assigned
  • Provide a weekly metric report to Director of Business Development

Requirements

  1. Goal oriented personality: persistent, determined, positive, professional
  2. Consultative sales experience should include working with executive and C-level decision makers in complex environments using solution-selling techniques
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  4. Must have practical understanding of higher education and/or e-learning
  5. Federal/State Government procurement
  6. Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required
  7. 5-7 years of the sales experience in the Federal/State Government environment
  8. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  9. Working knowledge of CRM systems
  10. Position requires extensive phone and computer usage
  11. Must be able to travel 50% of the time and have valid passport
  12. Availability must include regularly scheduled weekdays between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time
  13. Some weekend hours may be required

Reporting

The employee reports to the Online Campus Director of Business Development.

Other

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle or touch objects, as well as type on a computer keyboard. The employee will be required to sit in front of a desk and move around the office. The employee will have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
