The Military Appreciation Grant will cover up to 20% of your tuition. Undergraduate books are included!
Depending on your academic program, it may be more than 20% so your combined tuition, books, and fees are no greater than $250 per credit. Herzing University Online extends this grant in appreciation of your service to our country.
Eligibility: This grant is extended to all servicemembers currently serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces including National Guard and Reserves who are pursuing a diploma or degree program at Herzing University Online. Proof of affiliation is required at time of application. Books are not included in tuition for graduate courses.

All Reserve members and their families have been given the same unlimited commissary and base privileges as active-duty personnel under the 2007 National Defense Authorization Act. Access to resources provided on base can help control costs of food, necessities and recreational activities while attending college.

Active Reserve and National Guard Members
If you are serving on continuous active-duty status, you are eligible for Tuition Assistance benefits from the VA. This benefit is also available to those enlisted Reserve members reporting for 120 days of active duty, and officer Reserve members ordered to active duty for two years or more. Selective Reserve Members
- Montgomery GI Bill – Selective Reserve
Those enrolled in the Selective Reserves are eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill – Selective Reserve (Ch 1606) educational benefit. The MGIB – SR is very similar to the MGIB, granting 36 months of benefits toward an approved educational program. Those Selective Reserve members who received orders for and served 90-consecutive days of active duty on or after September 11, 2001, under title 10 U.S. Code for a contingency operation may be eligible for educational benefits through the Reserve Educational Assistance Program (Ch 1607). National Guard members may also be eligible. This program may be used instead of the MGIB – SR. For more details, review the REAP pamphlet on the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs web site.
