Herzing Passes the 500 Fan Mark on Facebook
Herzing University officially has over 500 fans on the popular social networking site Facebook. The Herzing University official fan page launched September 1, 2009 recently surpassed the 500 fan mark and the excitement surrounding the fan page continues to build. The page created for active students, graduates and prospective students serves as a source for information as well as a place to connect and network.
Herzing Admissions Specialist and Herzing fan page creator Amanda Mayer says, “Our students have been very active on the fan page. They use it to introduce themselves to their new Herzing community and to encourage other students.”
Students and graduates use the Herzing fan page to ask questions, meet the Herzing staff, and connect with fellow classmates who also use Facebook. Students often use the Herzing page to share thoughts about their programs and to encourage classmates in their studies. Additionally, the site is used by staff members to inform interested students about the upcoming term’s courses, to discuss news about events such as graduations, to alert students of weather related closings, and to have fun by celebrating holidays and sharing inspirational quotes.
According to Mayer, “As our fan base continues to grow beyond the 500 mark, we will continue to use Facebook as a place to create a community of support for Herzing students.”
