Herzing University Online Design Student Wins First Honorable Mention in CCA Logo Contest
Congratulations to Aaron Bowersock of West Allis, WI, Herzing University Online Graphic Design student, winner of first honorable mention in the Career College Association’s (CCA) 2010 Convention Logo student competition. The contest is open to students currently enrolled in a CCA-member school. Aaron’s design was chosen from more than 60 entries. His logo will be appear on CCA’s website, www.career.org. He receives a $250 cash prize and certificate of achievement. read more »
Herzing BSHIM Students Can Sit for RHIA Credential

The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) accredits degree-granting HIM programs that have undergone a rigorous process of voluntary peer review and have met or exceeded the minimum accreditation standards as set by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). More information about CAHIIM’s mission and purpose can be found at www.cahim.org. The Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (BSHIM) Program at the Herzing University Online campus was granted CAHIIM Accreditation on August 27, 2009. Two online MSN degrees are now available at Herzing University, Wisconsin’s ‘Best School for Online Education – 2009’ as voted by readers of Corporate Report Wisconsin magazine. While the core curriculum provides students with the knowledge and skills required for executive-level nursing positions (such as nursing theory, health care finance, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and patient diversity) students can pursue a concentration in either nursing education or nursing management to align with their career goals. read more »
Herzing’s Native American outreach program participates in NIEA convention

The National Indian Education Association Convention (NIEA) was held on October 22-25 at the Midwest Airline Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This year the convention featured over 180 workshop presenters and co-presenters, 140 exhibitors and vendor businesses, 225 junior high/high school students, and 60 Tribal leaders and elders. Carla Culver from the Wyandotte Nation (Oklahoma) was the proud winner of a beautiful gift basket presented to her by Cheryl Evans-Smith, Director of Native American Education for Herzing University Online. read more »

Indian Ed Convention Starts Tomorrow

Herzing University Online’s Career Services Department Recognized for Providing Innovative Services to Students with Unique Need
Herzing University Online to be awarded the Dr. Robert Greenberg Award for Innovation from Career Opportunities for Students with Disabilities.
October 9, 2009 — Milwaukee, WI — Herzing University Online’s Career Service’s Department is the recipient of the 2009 Robert Greenberg Award for Innovation, which will be presented at the annual Career Opportunities for Students with Disabilities (COSD) Conference in Dallas, TX, on November 9, 2009. Herzing University Online, winner in the Education category, will share the spotlight with the winner of the Employer category, Wal-Mart, which won the award for its commitment to hiring and making reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities.
The Dr. Robert Greenberg Award for Innovation is given to a person, institution, employer or program/initiative that demonstrates cutting-edge and new techniques or strategies in the area of preparing or recruiting or hiring college students with disabilities. Dr. Robert Greenberg, the Co-Founder of Career Opportunities for Students with Disabilities (COSD), held the title of Director of Career Services at the University of Tennessee Knoxville for 21 years. Dr. Greenberg provided the ground work for the COSD organization based on his vision that institutions should be more inclusive of college students with disabilities. That vision has grown to a national organization that continues to expand and influences college students with disabilities when planning and executing their future careers. read more »
Herzing University to host a booth at the 40th Annual National Indian Education Association (NIEA) Convention
Herzing University Native American Education department will be hosting a booth at the 40th Annual National Indian Education Association (NIEA) Convention coming to the Midwest Airlines Center in Milwaukee October 22-25, 2009. The theme for the 2009 convention is 'Shaping Our Future Wisdom Keepers.'
"With over 562 federally recognized Native American, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian Tribes in the United States all convening to this one event, we are very excited and honored to take part," said Cheryl Smith, Herzing University Online Director of Native American Education. read more »
Career Services raises $500 to support the Team in Training Program
Herzing University Online's Career Services Department fundraises for Herzing Alumna's participation in Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program.
Herzing University Online graduate Aimee Siegler set a goal of raising $4,000 for her Team in Training efforts. Participating in honor of her father who lost his battle with leukemia in 2006, Siegler set out to complete a triathlon including a .4 mile swim, a 15 mile bike ride and a 3 mile run. In an effort to reach her fundraising goal, Ms. Siegler called upon her many contacts including her alma mater, Herzing University Online. read more »
