New Graduate Programs a Hit with Students

Ben Nirschl, Director of Admissions and current Herzing MBA student
Herzing University enrolled its first class of graduate students on January 7. The graduate programs are offered through the Online campus and consist of four degree choices: Master of Business Administration (MBA), MBA-Health Care Management, MBA - Business Management, and MBA - Technology Management. While the standard MBA program can be completed in 12 months, Admissions Advisor Sharonda Simmons noted that many students select an 18-month MBA program that has an industry concentration for extra job security in an uncertain economy.
Forty-six students are currently earning their master’s degree at Herzing. Many popular features of the MBA program make it a natural next step for current students. The Dual Enrollment program allows Herzing undergrads to take two MBA courses in place of two electives during their senior year. Current business or management students may be eligible for exemption of the first MBA business fundamentals course. And Herzing alumni receive a 15% tuition discount on all their master’s-level courses!

One of these students is Atlanta Business Administration graduate Cheryl Jackson, who is set to finish her MBA before the end of 2009. So far her classes have been great, and she has really enjoyed the teaching techniques of Dr. Outlaw and Dr. Alex, as well as getting to know her other instructors. While taking classes, Cheryl has been able to apply what she’s learning directly in her workplace in the areas of improved business writing, decision-making, and company organization. When Cheryl was first considering graduate school last year, she shopped around but ended up staying with Herzing because the dual enrollment and alumni discount would allow her to finish more rapidly and at a great value.
Herzing University is very proud of Cheryl and the first class of MBA students, and we are extremely excited for the next class of students who began their MBA programs in May.
