    Are you HAPPY at Herzing?

According to the recent online campus satisfaction survey where over 900 of you participated, 94.4% of you are indeed happy with us. That is quite a remarkable statistic. I suspect that the same could not be said about surveys on our economy and Wall Street, political leaders, or even the selection of movies at the local cinema. read more »

The philosophy of Herzing University is that college is not only a place to learn technical and business skills and to develop academically, but also a place to develop important work habits. Important work habits include responsibility and reliability, and attendance is a major factor in both.

Missing a class affects more than the individual student. When one student does not participate in a discussion board, that student’s perspective and individual opinion is lost and can negatively impact the whole class. In addition, many instructors require not just original posts, but also replies, and a student cannot reply to a post that is not there. Finally, some courses require group work and other students may be depending on your input. For these reasons and others, and to avoid disruption to the educational process caused by erratic attendance, the University emphasizes attendance in all courses. read more »

Imagine getting paid $500 for an hour’s work right in your own home. This is a great way to look at scholarships and the application processes behind them because most scholarships can range from $250 to awards over $5000! Just a few hours can bring a hard-working student the opportunity to use a scholarship to pay for tuition that might otherwise be covered with a loan. When the time spent on obtaining a scholarship is compared with the potential monetary return it is easy to see why a savvy student will put in the hours. read more »

Herzing University’s Bachelor degree programs contain a valuable senior project requirement. The requirement includes the option of either a capstone project course or an internship which is specific to your area of study. The senior project is completed in students’ senior years and allows them to utilize the knowledge that they have acquired in their field of study.

Many students elect to do the capstone project. In fact the Registration department will automatically schedule students for the capstone project when creating schedules unless a student informs us of his or her desire to complete an internship. The capstone project usually requires the student to work in a team with other students to identify a project within their field, do all of the research, prepare a plan and present this to their classmates and their instructor. read more »
