Clinical duties may include taking medical histories and recording vital signs, giving injections, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during patient examinations.

Medical Office Administration
These professionals are responsible for providing excellent customer service and helping the office run efficiently. To do this, they must possess computer, communication, and organization skills as well as a thorough understanding of medical billing and reimbursement, and medical ethics, law, and federal regulations.

Health Care Management
Health care facilities require a manager to oversee the business-side of the facility. This administrator must possess a thorough understanding of the health care industry as well as executive-level business skills in order to make proper management decisions.

Medical Billing and Insurance Coding
Well-trained medical billing and insurance coding professionals make sure insurance companies and patients are billed correctly for the health care they received from a provider. Insurance coders also learn a universal code system that they then use to label each health care procedure, greatly simplifying this billing process.

Health Information Management
Health information managers are experts in medical coding, billing, patient record handling, and security of those records. They typically oversee the medical billing and insurance coding departments as well as the paper and electronic filing and maintenance of patient records.
