Health Information Management — Courses
Health Information Management professionals must have in-depth knowledge of three separate disciplines:
- Revenue Cycle Management and Data Analysis
- Business Management
- Information Technology and Security
To ensure Herzing University Online Health Information Management graduates are prepared for responsibility in each of the areas listed above, courses are included from each in addition to the specific Health Information Management courses. Students are then taught how to bring the three areas together and apply them to the profession.
The Herzing University Health Information Management online programs further prepare students through the inclusion of an internship opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field. In addition, the Program Review and Career Development courses guide students through the different certifications available to Health Information Management and Medical Billing and Insurance Coding professionals (and how to get them) as well as the creation of a coding skills portfolio to share with prospective employers.
