I started attending Herzing University in 2006. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in April 2009 and now I am completing my MBA!! I am very excited about what the future holds for me. I am a single mother who works full time yet knowing the benefits of having a degree has kept me focused and motivated to continue to achieve my goals.

Upon completion of my MBA I will open a day care center specializing in service to working single mothers. I also hope to run a non-profit organization. Attending Herzing University Online has allowed me to achieve my goals of obtaining a higher education because it is convenient to my schedule.

I am a Herzing family member - I was adopted from day one. For 17 years I had every excuse in the book why I could not return to college and earn a degree. From the time I was 18 until the age of 35, I evaded the “S” word: School. I traveled all over the country conducting inventories for an inventory service. I worked my way up the chain with experience, not a piece of paper (a degree). I thought I was on cloud nine working my tail off for $15 per hour.

A close friend/mentor of mine was taking online courses working towards her Master’s in Accounting. For two years I watched her complete class after class getting closer towards her degree. She constantly tried to persuade me to take classes too. Again I had every excuse as to why I could not. The “S” word was frightening. I was old, how could I possible remember everything I learned in high school? I couldn’t possibly learn, especially without being in a class with an instructor to guide me, to hold my hand.

One day I decided I would try to find a school that offered Business Administration programs. The first school I found in my search was Herzing University. I began to review the site, liked what I saw and wanted to speak with someone from the school. I never looked elsewhere; my search began and ended with Herzing University.

Once I started my courses, everyone from the Admissions Advisors to my classmates was very supportive. I enjoyed the professional presentation of each course and have taken away an education that has advanced my career. Herzing University is not just any college; the staff is the best group of knowledgeable, professional, loving, caring, and supportive group of professionals placed in a healthy, dynamic college environment. As I look back, you know what? I wouldn’t change a thing. I am proud to be a Herzing Graduate, Class of 2008!

When I started at Herzing Online, I had already attended several other online colleges. Other online schools had made me feel like just another number, and their communication had been very poor. I was ready to give up on online schools completely, until I found Herzing's online program.

None of the previous schools I attended remotely compared to the level of professionalism I have encountered at Herzing. My Admissions Advisor, Jennifer, was extremely helpful in explaining the admissions process, as well as outlining the classes I would need to take to complete my major. The classes have been challenging and rewarding. The instructors are very insightful and helpful. The interaction with peers has been much better compared to other online programs. At one point, I decided to change my major, which I thought would be a stressful mess. However, the Student Services Department made the process extremely easy and stress-free.

I have been exceedingly impressed with Herzing Online, and I would recommend their online programs to all my family and friends.

Herzing University Online gave me a chance to fulfill my dreams and attending Herzing also gave me life lessons about being compassionate about "work." I started Herzing University not knowing what to expect. Even though it was distance learning, I was nervous, confused and thinking to myself, I will never make it.

First, the admission advisors were so welcoming and any information I needed, they provided without question. The student advisors took the time to email or call and check to make sure things are going as they should. They even email you and let you know when you haven’t logged in, to see if there is anything they can help with.

The Financial Aid department is just as superior, no need to wonder how you are going to pay for college, they can work it out!! I still couldn’t believe I was getting so much support from a college team. The Professors and the classes are unbelievable; navigating through the blackboard was so easy. The information and learning techniques are presented to you and you are given time to complete all assignments. I had a problem and called my professor—I was nervous because I thought I had a crazy question, but she stayed on the telephone with me, referring to the text book and learning material until I completely understood what the lesson was. That’s called A1 servicing!!

As intern time approached, I didn't know where to start and I was thinking about quitting. The Career Services Department stepped right in and said we are here to help, just tell us what you want us to do and email or call if you have any questions at all. Any available information about jobs, job fairs, and resume servicing was being sent to me and I couldn't believe it. The Career Services Department expressed concerns about my happiness on my job. They went the extra mile to help me find a job here in Alabama. Wow!! I couldn’t have made a better choice.

I started Herzing University in 2007 HOPING to get my diploma in Medical Billing and Insurance Coding. Here it is 2009 and I HAVE my diploma in Medical Billing and Insurance coding. Thanks to Herzing University Online and the supportive staff, I feel like the sky is the limit for me and my family. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

When I first decided to go back to college it took me about 6 months before I finally found the right college to go to. I was working full time and needed something that would fit into my schedule so I could spend time with my family and get a degree. I contacted several online schools but the staff at Herzing really took the time to talk with me and took the time to figure out what I wanted to do and if I understood what I was getting into by going back to college, they wanted to make sure that I was serious about getting my degree.

Everyone that I had contact with in the process of getting enrolled was very helpful, answered all my questions and called back in a timely manner when I left a message for them. They work hard at getting all the financial stuff done every semester and I feel like they really care about me as a person and a student. I love Herzing and recommend this school to everyone and anyone. I love the interaction you get with classmates; the discussions are fun and very informative. Every professor I’ve had so far has been helpful and helps each student to succeed.

I’ve even made some close friends from Herzing, even though we live far from each other, we have supported one another and help encourage each other in the classes that we have. This is a great place to get your education and on the plus side make some good friends.

My name is Dave Namm and I reside in Avondale, Arizona with my lovely wife, Lisa of 11 years and twin daughters who turned 15 years old in December. We have one dog, one cat and two birds. Living here is worth it if you can survive the three or four months while it's 115 degrees or so and certainly uncomfortable. The winter season is great! While the rest of the country is busy shoveling snow and dealing with winter storms; we resolve to spending time outdoors.

Last year I decided, with the encouragement from my wife, to return to school. After a great deal of research, I chose the Graphic Design program at Herzing University because of the enormous support system along with the exposure you receive to the variety of media. I am an amateur photographer and have always loved working on and with computers. I am fascinated with creating advertisements, logo designs and creating potential new characters. It’s a great way to express myself through color, texture, and my own internal creative bug while using various computer tools to get messages across to the general public and interact with others who are as passionate about design as I am. Although I am a new student, I have been embraced by the faculty, staff, advisors and professors alike; they are my new family. I am assured that I’ve made the correct decision with my enrollment and look forward to walking the stage one day with my fellow peers and colleagues.

For now, I'm comforted in knowing that I'm setting the example for my children and grandchildren that it's never too late to seek and obtain one’s educational dreams. My family has been a huge inspiration for me. With a lot of effort and personal patience, I know I will complete my degree at Herzing University and go on to pursue higher education; my much anticipated graduate degree!

My name is Shelica. I am 33 years old and the mother of a six year-old son. I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and scheduled to graduate in December of 2011.

I have been going to Herzing now for two plus years and this has been the best online school that I have ever been to. Due to some unforeseen circumstances I was unable to finish school and once my son got here it was over with. I can't say that I have procrastinated, but it really took a lot for me to go back to school. Once I made the decision to go back to school, I received a lot of encouragement from friends and support from my family.

When I think about writing this testimony I ask myself, what should I say? My greatest accomplishment right now is to graduate with my Bachelor degree. Herzing made me comfortable and relaxed. The staff is the best. They are there when you need them and they are very helpful with everything, no matter what the issue.

I completed my Diploma in Medical Billing and Insurance Coding December 21, 2008. Even before I was finished, the decision to continue came easily. Now that I have that accomplishment under my belt, I want more and there is no other school I would rather attend to make that happen. Upon completion, I plan on continuing into Health Law, but I am taking everything one step at a time. I do look forward to all my classes and a fulfilling career in the health industry.
